How cute are these Perler bead bees? 😍 Nothing makes me think of spring quite so much as bees and flowers. And they’re just so easy to make out of Perler beads!
I found these two different bee designs on Pinterest (bee from the side and bee from the top) and I couldn’t help making a dozen or two. (Read on to find out what I did with so many!)

Naturally, I had to make some flowers for my little bees to buzz around, too. Flowers are some of my favorite Perler bead creations because they’re so quick and so very cute.

You can make flowers out of any color bead using either a hexagon or a star pegboard.
Here’s what you’ll need for the bees:
Materials List
Beads (for 1 bee):
- 9 black fuse beads (I used Perler black)
- 12 white fuse beads (I used Perler white)
- 19 yellow fuse beads (I used Perler yellow)
All these colors come in the Perler 22,000-bead mega-bucket, which I personally think has the best “bang for your buck” when it comes to fuse beads.
Equipment:
- Large pegboard (I used a large Perler Pegboard) to make a batch of bees, but you can also make just 1 or 2 on a small pegboard.
- Iron (I’ve used this one for years)
- Parchment paper (the regular stuff works as well as the special Perler sheets!)
- (optional but recommended) Perler Bead Tweezers

You can fit up to 9 bees on 1 large pegboard for either design (top-view bee or side-view bee):
